Maureen Denise McCormick was born on 5 August 1956, in Woodland Hills California the youngest and sole daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her father was a teacher as did her mother, who was a domestic worker. Michael Dennis Kevin, her two older brothers. McCormick was an accomplished entertainer and singer at a young age. She would put on shows with puppets to entertain her friends. McCormick won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 and was approached via Pat Domigan, a talent agent with the Jack Wormser Agency. He asked her if she wanted to join the business of show production. McCormick was commissioned to perform in her first major performance in 1964 on the tv spot for Mattels most recent doll, Baby Pattaburp. She subsequently starred as Chatty Cathy in a commercial and was then cast for The Wind It up and It's Broken in The La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won an audition in 1969 from over 1200 kids to be one of the oldest twin daughters in The Brady Bunch TV program The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed and Robert Reed. The show lasted for five seasons. McCormick admitted in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published in 2008) that McCormick nearly lost her Virginity with Barry Williams during the five-year run on the program. The actress was only 16 when she was in the scene and he was just 19. The two of us could have been in a romance, she said. The timing, however, wasn't right.
