Annette O'Toole spent her childhood in the Houston studio, which was managed by her mother. As a toddler her appearance on television for her first time, at the age of two. In the year 13 having ten years of vocal and dancing training in her past, she and her mother travelled for a trip to L.A. for a year to determine if she would make it in the show business. Within two weeks, she was offered her first paying job performing on the Danny Kaye Show with Danny Kaye. She claims that she's used her singing and dancing capabilities in various ways. It's a fantastic discipline for actors." Her first acting role was My Three Sons. This was then followed by Gunsmoke. The Mod Squad. And Hawaii Five-O. One of her greatest loves, despite her success in television and film was theatre. When her six-year run on Smallville came to an end, she chose to devote her time to theater and has done so over the last decade. She went to New York and her first audition was the reason she was cast in The Sea Gull. She's appeared in many off-Broadway productions, such as Adam Rapp's Kindness and Tracy Letts' Man from Nebraska.
