Luciana Paluzzi
Luciana Paluzzi, an Italian actress with a lot of her body and a large smile, was a star following the success of Gina Lollobrigida. After appearing on both sides of the Atlantic during the 1950s, in films such as Three Coins in the Fountain, (1954), and Sea Fury, (1958), Luciana Paluzzi was offered a chance at American TV fame in the character of Simone Genet in the spy weekly Five Fingers in 1959. In 1965 she was approached by the Bond producers for consideration as Domino Derval, the main character in Thunderball. Terence Young gave her Fiona Volpe as a model, and she is one of one woman who is able to resist Mr. Bond's enticements. Fiona Volpe gets killed in the midst of a dance floor by Bond's own friends, probably to make her pay for her conduct. James then places her deceased body in front of a table, and asks "Do you want to see that my spouse stays home?" It's dead." Luciana's career as an European actress was boosted by this box office blockbuster. The actress was part of films such as Captain Nemo and the Underwater City, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Klansman and The Greek Tycoon.
